What does Tier III mean for datacenter ratings?

Data centres are rated and classified into tiers. It is a system that provides information about the level of reliability and availability of data centres. The relevant class, i.e. tier, defines how the data centre is designed and operated to minimise downtime and ensure the reliability of the IT infrastructure. What does Tier III mean, i.e. the class that our datacentre in Prague Vysočany boasts?

For a Tier III compliant data center, we know that:

  • has redundant components, such as power, cooling, etc. If a failure occurs, operation is not interrupted.
  • is available at a minimum level of 99.982 %. This means that he can "afford" an outage of about 1.6 hours per year.
  • is physically very well secured - Typically, this can be camera systems, biometric access, etc.

Tier III compliant data centre is suitable for organizations and companies that need to keep their IT and applications running around the clock. If this is the case for you, read more about our Prague data centre. We have 7 years of experience in running a data centre.
